The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences has a long tradition of teaching at undergraduate (90 years) and postgraduate level (50 years) and of conducting research. It belongs to the University of Chile, the main and oldest University in Chile which is listed as one of the best universities in the field of Agriculture & Forestry in Latin America. The mission of the Faculty is to develop its academic duties in all areas related to the protection and environmental management of renewable natural resources, agricultural production, aquaculture, considering the conservation, processing and marketing of the agrifood system under a sustainable management.

The Faculty offers education from undergraduate level to PhD level. This allows students to obtain a professional degree and also to continue their studies to the Degree of Doctor, which enables them to update or change their academic profile in response to the demands of the society and their own personal challenges. There are two undergraduate programs (Agronomist and Engineering in Natural Resources) and six graduate programs (3 Masters and 3 PhD). The Faculty also offer a number of courses focus on farmers and advisor related to the agrifood system. The Faculty aim to strengthen its activities in the international research community in terms of teaching, research and extension.
