Welthungerhilfe Germany
Welthungerhilfe is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization in Germany. It provides aid from a single source: from fast disaster relief and reconstruction to long-term development cooperation projects with local partner organisations, according to the principle of help for self-help. Since its foundation in 1962, more than 8,500 projects in 70 countries have been supported with 3,27 billion Euros – for a world without hunger and poverty. In South Asia, over the past 55 years, Welthungerhilfe has supported around 1500 rural development projects in South Asia through local partner organisations. In the NEXTFOOD programme, Welthungerhilfe is collaborating with University of Calcutta and University of Kerala.
